Public outdoor pool right next to us

The directly adjacent public mountain pool is open from the end of May to the beginning of September! Discounted day tickets and the KärntenCard are available at the campsite reception! The outdoor pool can be used free of charge with the Kärnten Card.

New spacious leisure area (1000 square meters) since the 2023 season

Fun and games: a climbing tower with slide, a sailor's swing, a badminton court and a boules court.

"Kids Jungle Camper" and fire pit

In the "Kids Jungle Camper" (a converted caravan), small children can let off steam in the ball pool. There is also a seating area for painting, playing or doing handicrafts. The fire pit invites young and old to enjoy a barbecue together.

On Camp 2: soccer, volleyball, table tennis, play tower with slide and swings

In addition to a soccer pitch, a volleyball court will also be built for the 2024 season. A table tennis table will also be installed. A play tower with a slide and swings is already in place.

Events at Camping Alpenfreude

In the high season, we organize morning pints, dance evenings, bingo and much more on our restaurant terrace.

On the Wertschacher Kirchtag, the hosts of the Alpenfreude campsite/restaurant, Melanie & Jörg, will "celebrate" the Heimatverein. You can experience this ceremony with music and dancing on our restaurant terrace.

Cycle path Alpe Adria - an unforgettable experience

The 410-kilometer Alpe Adria cycle path leads from the Mozartstadt Salzburg through the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park to the sunny south to Carinthia and across Austria's borders to Italy and the Adriatic Sea.

Stop off, fortify yourself, spend the night with us (reasonably priced camping pitches available), and continue cycling relaxed!

Kirchtag in Wertschach and other church days throughout the Gailtal valley

TRADITION is still very important here in the countryside. The Wertschacher Kirchtag takes place once a year! The event includes a "Kufenstechen", "Lindentanz" and dancing entertainment in the evening, a freshly tapped beer or "spritzer" and steaks with potato salad.

Kufenstechen is a Carinthian riding custom that is practiced in many places in the Gailtal valley on church days.

Natur park Dobratsch

The Villach Alpine Road offers a magnificent 16.5 km overview of Carinthia's diversity. Viewpoint parking lots, alpine garden, many places to stop for refreshments and hikes.

Stollenwanderweg

The Stollenwanderweg is a circular hiking trail and was set up by the Bergmännischer Kulturverein Bad Bleiberg. It leads along the Erzberg and offers insights into the mining tradition of the Bleiberg Valley through old tunnels. Along the way, you can find out about various topics such as minerals, the history of mining, thermal water and the healing climate tunnels. Comfortable, sunny resting places with magnificent views invite you to linger.

Lake Bled

Bled, a Slovenian climatic health resort, is located at the foothills of the Julian Alps, on the glacial lake of the same name. Bled Castle, which dates back to the 11th century and now houses a museum, a chapel and a printing press, is located on a rock overlooking the lake. The pilgrimage church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary with its steep staircase and bell tower is located on an island in Lake Bled.

The city, which comprises a medieval old town and a classicist Austrian quarter, combines influences from Italy, Austria-Hungary and Slovenia.
